Who we are

This website is run by Creative Acoustics (“we”, “us”, “our”). We supply and install acoustic plaster systems and acoustic panels in the UK. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What information we collect

We only collect the personal information we need:

  • Information you give us. When you email or phone us about a project, we keep your name, contact details and the details of your enquiry or project.
  • Information collected when you use this website. Our web server records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly.
  • Cookies. This website uses a small number of cookies. Some are essential for the site to work. Others, such as those set by embedded YouTube videos, are only used if you agree to them. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your choices.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you quotes, samples or advice.
  • To carry out and manage work we have agreed with you.
  • To keep our records and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
  • To keep this website secure and working properly.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:

  • Contract: where we need your information to give you a quote or carry out work for you.
  • Legitimate interests: to answer enquiries, run our business and keep this website secure.
  • Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records.
  • Consent: for non-essential cookies and embedded content. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who we share your information with

We only share your information when we need to, for example with:

  • our website hosting and IT providers, who store data on our behalf;
  • suppliers and contractors involved in your project, where needed to carry out the work;
  • our accountants, and authorities such as HMRC where the law requires it.

If you watch an embedded YouTube video on this site, YouTube (Google) will receive information about your visit. This only happens once you have accepted the relevant cookies. Google may process data outside the UK under its own safeguards.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry details for up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a customer. Customer and financial records are kept for six years to meet legal and tax requirements. After that they are securely deleted.

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
